..At A Lenny Kravitz Concert
AT FIRST I WAS NERVOUS . I remember driving in the pouring rain, seeing emergency vehicles aiding two cars that had driven off the road, wondering if this would be the day I got to see the man who has touched me so much with his lyrics and spirit. As the rain intensified, I pulled off at the next exit and waited hoping it would slow or stop. Sitting in my car listening to the radio, the rain continued to pour and I was faced with the dilemma of not reaching my destination. I decided to continue so I turned on my emergency lights, drove slowly, and let the lines guide me. Don't get me wrong, when strong weather occurs and visibility is bleak, I normally find a hotel or pull off to the side of the road, but this day was different. I was driven by a force beyond my control. I did finally arrive, later than expected, tired and hungry but, I made it. I had enough time to grab a bite, so I went to a restaurant. It was there that I saw the cutest, largest, curly afro I have ever seen, and it belonged to Mr. Craig Ross-the guitarist for LK. OMG! This man can play a guitar with his left or right hand and it sounds amazing. I didn’t want to disturb him while he was eating but I could not sit there and not say anything. So I cautiously walked over and said a few words to him. I thought that would be the highlight of my day, it wasn't. THINGS GOT A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE. After eating, I headed to the venue. I was able to secure a spot on the front row next to the stage. You would think this would be a great place to view the concert unfortunately, not unless you are taller than 6 feet. Apparently, I had the same spot that the cameraman and the photographer liked (no offense MB). I couldn't see anything, not even the large monitor on the stage. I was so crushed. I reflected on how I had driven so many miles and endured scary moments on the road only to see the back of someone's t-shirt. I tried jumping up and down but I was too short. THEN IT STARTED TO FEEL GOOD. Mr. Lenny Kravitz saw what I was going through and walked over and sang and played his guitar directly in front of me. He is so connected with his audience, it was beautiful. He knows what his audience needs and knows how to deliver. I extended my hand to say thank you and that’s when he did the unexpected. He took my hand and placed his guitar pick in it. A FEELING I WILL NEVER FORGET. At that moment, I felt the love and it was so overwhelming that I am still overcome with emotion as I write this. I can honestly say that Lenny made my first time so very special.

A really nice story! I first saw Lenny in concert in London at Wembley Arena in Nov 91'. I went with some friends from college. We left home at 6:30 a.m. and took a 3 hr train journey to London, then stood in a queue for hours and hours in the freezing cold until we could go in. As soon as Lenny came out on stage and started playing, he blew me away! His magic ; that is his songs, just hypnotised me. I was well and truly hooked! I went to his concert this May in Valencia and he did it again! He will never lose that magical touch.

It has been a pleasure to read your story. Lenny has such a positive energy that connects with the different feelings of his fans. Once you have enjoyed the first live show, you become his fan forever. No matter age, nationality, genre, religion ... Mr. Lenny Kravitz is one of our good angels. Love to everybody, Míriam.

LLR I really enjoyed reading your post. I believe everything that happened that day was by design... just as it was supposed to be. The weather conditions led to the perfect timing to meet Craig and your obstructed view was the catalyst for your "Lenny Moment". Thanks for sharing. Let Love Rule
