Liquid Jesus
First time I heard this song I thought Lenny was saying "Live for Jesus", I mean that makes sense right? I love the Limited Edition dvd of Black and White America of him recording this song. His lips so close to the mic and hands in his pockets. I find this song a little confusing as he is singing about being lovers and giving what is your fantasy, but also singing about Jesus. Idk? He always seems to be torn between love/lust and how he feels about God. He has stated that sex outside of marriage is wrong and was (in the past) not having sex until he married. i think he regrets having said that. I love his voice in this song, and the song is so catchy.

Ha Yes, at first listen the song sounds a bit too sensuous to have a reference to God. Lenny said that this is a love song and that "Liquid Jesus" is a metaphor for the love he needs from the girl to cleanse and save him from his past issues and baggage so that he can be truely free to love. Her love can purify him like "liquid" Jesus purifies and renews us. I LOVE the tone of his voice in this song. :)

It means to me a world of Lenny and who he loves, more like the love is washing over both him and his lover? Does that make any sense? As usual he is very sensual about what he would do, the thought of him in a bathtub comes to mind (yes, I am bad!)

Well, I believe that "Jesus" is a girl's name. Otherwise, I wish it were haha! The song is very sensual, and in my opinion does not make me think of God as my savior. By contrast, when I hear that song, I think of him, Mr. Kravitz hahahaha!
P / D: Obviously must have regretted his comments on celibacy. Poor Lenny, must have been having a bad time. It's because we have not met us!
